Camp Quality Canada is honoured to be the recipient of Coast To Coast Against Cancer Foundation’s extraordinary generosity. Over the past 5 years, they have donated more than $1.4 million dollars to Camp Quality, raised through their numerous high caliber events including Tour for Kids and Ride for Karen.
The funding CQ receives from CTCACF supports our national initiatives including sending over 375 campers with cancer to camp this summer. It helps us to work closely with our 450 volunteers to nurture our campers and develop our programs that take place throughout the year in order to ensure that children with cancer, and their families, are supported in a year round relationship with CQ.
CTCACF also supports our educational Puppet Program that reaches over 23,000 elementary school children each year. The Puppet Program teaches about cancer and its effects while encouraging empathy and friendship. Performed by our 8 teams across the country, the presentation is available free of charge thanks to the support of CTCACF.
About Tour for Kids
This year, CTCACF will hold it’s 11th annual Tour for Kids cycling event through Southern Ontario. This 600-rider event raises funds for camps for kids with cancer in the province, including Camp Quality. With one, two or four-day rider packages, there are distance and speed options for all rider abilities. The event will take place from August 14-17, 2014. For more information about Tour for Kids, to register as a rider, or to volunteer at the event, please visit www.tourforkids.com.
As Canada’s only national charity devoted to fighting childhood cancer, Coast To Coast Against Cancer Foundation raises funds dedicated to improving the survival rate and quality of life for children and their families impacted by cancer. They do this by conducting memorable events that encourage active and healthy lifestyles, including cycling rides and team-building activities. CTCACF operates the Tour for Kids, the Inside Ride, the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride, and they are the beneficiaries of the Ride for Karen.
